Courses of Drawing and Painting techniques in the week-end

These are real Art Crash courses, meant for those who have little time to concentrate on one or more artistic techniques. Very small classes or individual lessons are held both in English and in Italian over the weekends. Students can take their courses either in our Art studio or in the squares and streets of Florence.

A. Drawing and Painting Techniques in the Art studio

This is a very in-depth course conceived for those artists who, while spending a week-end in Florence, wish to be immerged in the Renaissance atmosphere, drawing and painting together with other fellows under the supervision and guidance of our experienced Art teachers.

During this course students will have the opportunity to try and practice various drawing and painting techniques, such as graphite, charcoal, pastel, water-colour, acrylic, oil. Subjects may vary following the preference of every single participant, from still life to portrait and model.

In accordance with weather conditions, part of the course can also be dedicated to en plein air sessions in the ancient squares and gardens of Florence, or along the Arno river, where the glittering water meets with the harmonious lines of the Renaissance buildings.

This course can be recommended both to Art novices and to experienced artists and professionals who need a hands-on approach with different drawing and painting techniques.

B. Drawing and painting “en plein air”

This 2-day very intensive course will mainly take place outside in the heart of Florence, in its picturesque streets and besides the Renaissance buildings. Students will draw and paint for example in front of the ancient town hall, the Palazzo Vecchio, or on the unique “old bridge”, the Ponte Vecchio, or in Santa Croce square, where Dante’s statue overlooks all the passers-by, or even in some secluded and quiet areas of the historical Boboli garden.

Furthermore, in our studio learners may also concentrate on the study of perspective drawing as well as on the creation of natural light effects in their paintings.

This seminar is meant not only for capable students who wish to improve their style and their creativeness, but also for those people (such as future architects and graphic designers) whose aim is to discover the fundamentals of perspective and of freehand sketching. That is why most of the time during classes every student will be tutored individually.

Our Art teachers will help students to develop their observation abilities while reproducing both a natural landscape and an architectural structure.

Students may choose to approach and practice one or more techniques according to their skills and preferences, such as charcoal, watercolour, pastel, oil.

One-to-one or two-to-one tuition of Fine Arts in the week-end

The programme and the schedule of this course is totally tailored to the needs and interests of each student, who is given the possibility of choosing the study of one or more Art techniques, such as charcoal, sanguine, pastel, oil, acrylic, watercolour, fresco, tempera.

Our Art teacher will guide the student step by step through the secrets and the practice of each technique, always ready to help him or her to improve his or her artistic skills.

It is possible to sign up for this course in any week-end. Three formulas are available: 6, 9 and 12 hours of tuition, either on a one-to-one or on two-to-one tuition.

This kind of lessons are ideal for those who are in need of approaching the basis of a new art technique rapidly and then wish to continue the practice on their own, once they return to their studios or homes. But also experienced and talented artists may find profitable to attend an Art crash course so as to improve his or her mastery, as well as enrich the portfolio.
